As the highlight of “1.100 Years of Saint Wolfgang”, the mystical musical “WOLF – the Mystical” will be presented on the new, completely covered Salzkammergut lakeside stage on Lake Wolfgangsee.
There will be 10 performances in total. The premiere on May 23, 2024 opens up a new cultural dimension, and the journey on board the WolfGangsee boat trip turns the evening into an unforgettable experience.
What are we supposed to do with terms like miracle or saint these days? WOLF – das Mystical 2024 is the Austrian answer to Jesus Christ Superstar, the mythology of Richard Wagner and a touch of Monty Python.
The musical theater piece “Wolf – the Mystical” refers to the 1.100th birthday of Saint Wolfgang (924–2024). Based on Franzobel's libretto, composer Gerd Hermann Ortler presents great musical theater - his first mystical. At the same time, you can experience the new Salzkammergut lakeside stage on Lake Wolfgangsee, a mobile, flexible “art machine” by architect Eduard Neversal.
The musical theater is about the big questions of human existence and deals with the life of Saint Wolfgang. It aims to entertain and at the same time underline the respect for life. It shows man's inner conflict between hedonism and contemplation based on Wolfgang's life story. The production should be poetic and humorous and inspire the audience.
18 actors and 12 musicians will bring prominent characters to the stage. A world of mystical theater and entertaining musicals is created Mystical!
The venue can only be reached by boat! Departures from 19:00 p.m. to 19:30 p.m. from the piers St. Wolfgang / Schafbergbahn (only about 200m next to our hotel!) and Gschwendt.
As our hotel guest, you can park for free and conveniently in our parking lot (otherwise public parking spaces nearby). There is no parking at the venue itself!
